My name is Abigail, and I am 22 years old. Two years ago, in March 2020, I was diagnosed with a Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis (CVST).
On the 31st March 2021 I was diagnosed with a DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) in my right leg & PE (Pulmonary Embolism) on my left lung.

In memory of their beloved wife and mother – Gio, who tragically died of a pulmonary embolism in 2019, Ken and Vicky will be walking 100km of the Via Francigena to Rome to raise funds and awareness of Thrombosis.
Sarah’s beloved best friend, Soph, died suddenly and tragically in 2019 aged just 28. To honour her memory and take part in something way beyond her comfort zone, she signed up to the Royal Parks Half Marathon in April 2021, the Edinburgh Half in May 2021 and is rounding the year off with the Amsterdam Marathon in October 2021.
On Monday 3rd June 2019 daughter, sister, partner, best-friend, colleague, and all-round shining comet of a person, Sophie Christopher, suddenly and tragically passed away at the age of 28 despite the best efforts of A&E staff at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Woolwich, ironically where Sophie had once worked to earn money as a student, to save her.
Tragically, in the final days of completing the novel, Gio passed away due to a pulmonary embolism. Ken shares their story, and his decision to launch the novel in memory of Gio, with all proceeds raised being donated to Thrombosis UK.
On 4th October 2014, Charlotte Anderson’s brother, Matthew, died suddenly and unexpectedly from a pulmonary embolism.
In 2016 Charlotte undertook a variety of events in his memory and in 2019, Charlotte came back to undertake another fundraiser for us.
Tony and Louise’s journey started in 2002, when Louise started developing DVTs. She had a total of 4 between 2002 and 2017 resulting in her being on life-long anticoagulation and left with severe damage to her veins.
