Thrombosis and pulmonary embolism (blood clots) are not uncommon and remain a global health issue, affecting thousands of people in the UK yet until Thrombosis UK was founded, there had been no lead independent body for thrombosis research in the UK.

Annually, Thrombosis UK offers Research Grants and Travel Fellowships for healthcare professionals and scientists whose study will help improve the experience and outcomes of VTE patents or extend the understanding of thrombosis.
