There is a history of thrombosis in my family – my father survived a PE and my brother has recently had a DVT following a knee operation (no thromboprophylaxis!), but when I first became aware of Thrombosis UK, my knowledge of blood clots (thrombosis) was still quite poor.

In the distant past regular trips to the gym, exercise classes and short jogs were part of my regular routine, but four children, work, wine and will power had long ago changed that! My life style needed to change, but what would be the inspiration? I had plenty of excuses….. but needed to take that first step
