Thrombosis UK raise concerns about delayed and missed diagnosis of VTE

Thrombosis UK works to increase awareness, understanding and support for all those affected by or at risk of blood clots, also known as ‘venous thromboembolism’ (VTE) the umbrella term for deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).

Thrombosis UK established a psychology therapy and consultancy service specifically for VITT patients.

This is led by a clinical psychologist (Prof Paul Bennett) who has substantial experience in the treatment of individuals experiencing adverse psychological reactions to significant health challenges. Although operating virtually (via zoom), this will provide live therapy sessions, email support, and consultations as appropriate.

We are seeking your support for our 2021 Thrombosis UK Research Appeal

Donations to the Thrombosis UK Research Appeal will be specifically be used to support research projects into understanding more about the causes, prevention and management of blood clots also known as thrombosis, deep vein thrombosis (DVT- blood clots usually formed in the legs), pulmonary embolism (PE - blood clots in the lungs) or venous thromboembolism, (VTE, both DVT + PE).
